When you donate a car, truck, boat, RV or other vehicle to Cars for Homes™, Habitat for Humanity’s official car donation program, you are helping break the cycle of poverty and homelessness within your community and around the world. Be a part of the building!

Directly benefit Habitat for Humanity in Mobile County!
Cars for Homes™ distributes the funds raised from the sale of your car donation directly to  Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Alabama to help build homes. Auction-quality vehicles (late-model, running and in good condition) generate significantly more funds than salvaged or recycled car donations. Cars for Homes™ program costs are kept as low as possible, and donated vehicles are sold through a national network of diverse venues to optimize revenues for local Habitat for Humanity affiliates.

Habitat for Humanity International is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization. If you itemize deductions on your income tax return, it may be possible to claim a deduction for donating your car. In general, donors who itemize their taxes may deduct the fair market value of any donated vehicle up to $499. If your vehicle sells for more than $500, you may deduct the full selling price. You will receive the appropriate receipt from Habitat for Humanity for your car donation. For more information, see IRS Publication 4303, “A Donor’s Guide to Vehicle Donations,” at the IRS Web site and consult with your own tax adviser.
